A Palestinian streetwear brand based in Chicago. We make clothing with intent — designed around Palestinian identity, built for the diaspora, open to anyone who understands why it exists.
YUMA stands for يامّا. Yu and Ma — the first two people. The name came before the mission. The mission came from the reality.
Yes. Palestinian visibility is not a closed system. If you understand what the clothing carries and you wear it with that understanding, that's the point.
We've shipped to teachers, activists, students, and people who just needed to make a choice about what was on their body. All of them are welcome here.
Twenty percent of every transaction is routed directly to Heal Palestine — an organization providing direct humanitarian aid, medical care, and essential supplies to Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.
This is not a marketing initiative. It is a non-negotiable financial parameter of how this brand operates. It does not change based on order size, sale price, or anything else.
Palestinian existence is not political. The framing of it as political is the argument.
We are on the side of the documented record. We make clothing for people who understand what that means.
Yes. The founder is Palestinian — his family are original refugees from Ijlil, a village north of Jaffa that was demolished in 1948. He did not learn about Palestinian culture from the internet. He carries it.
Every design comes from lived experience. The context is the material.
Yes. Every Arabic element in our designs is written and verified by native Arabic speakers — not translated by software, not approximated by someone who means well. The language on our clothing is the same language spoken in Palestinian homes across generations.
We've had native speakers contact us specifically to say it's correct. That matters to us more than any review.
All major credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, and Shop Pay installments. Supporting Palestinian causes should not require a single large payment if that's a barrier.

Black, white, gray. No slogans. No calligraphy used as decoration. No shortcuts.
Palestinian identity is embedded in the design — in the concept, the reference, the choice of what to document and how — not announced by it. If a design requires a disclaimer to explain its intent, it is rejected.
The author is Palestinian. Therefore the design is Palestinian. The context is the material.
Whatever you actually think. There's no script.
The designs are intentionally built to hold that conversation — they don't announce themselves, which means when someone asks, you're already past the loud part and into the real one.
If you want context on a specific piece, the product page has it. Or email us.
Cold water. Gentle cycle. Turn inside out. Hang dry or tumble low.
The prints are built to last — they will fade faster if you wash hot and dry high. Treat them like something worth keeping, because they are.

Email us. We are not a corporation with a knowledge base. We're people who carry this history and we'd rather answer a genuine question than have it go unanswered.
We also maintain a growing library of context at theyumaproject.com/pages/palestine — history, culture, symbols, cities, and the ongoing reality. It's free. It's documented. It's there.
Email us at yuma@theyumaproject.com. We read every message. We respond to every message. We are a real operation run by real people — not a ticket system, not a bot, not a form letter.
If you're on the fence about ordering, that's fine. Follow along, see how we show up, order when it feels right. The goal isn't a transaction. The goal is what the clothing is for.
